C’mon son, no need to beg—we’re always happy to reward you with delicious Psych scoop. Juliet (Maggie Lawson, who played a scandalously saucy vixen last week on Justified) will face some competition for Shawn’s heart in “Shawn and the Real Girl,” airing next month. Star James Roday broke it down for us on set in Vancouver last summer: “There’s some foul play on the set of the show, Paths of Love, and Shawn and Gus [Dulé Hill] have to go in undercover as contestants in the house, vying for the affections of the Bachelorette-type girl, played by the incomparable Lindsay Sloane. As you can imagine, a lot of silliness ensues.” Also there’s a special treat: Our beloved Greg Grunberg hams it up as the show’s producer. You know that’s right!

“The Supersized premiere and preview event are our gifts to an amazing and dedicated fan base who have made this show the longest running series currently on USA,” said Shapiro. “Leading into the Leap Day activities, our VOD sneak peek plays into a larger channel strategy of finding new and breakthrough ways to reward and engage our fans on multiple platforms.”

The special extended-length winter premiere will offer PSYCH-Os, as the fans are so affectionately called, supersized digital extensions. The entire episode will be Shazam enabled, sponsored by the all-new Lexus 2013 GS, and when activated will unlock exclusive bloopers and photos from the set. On the premiere night, USA will unveil a series of customizable and sharable PSYCH Moving Album Covers featuring their favorite stars bantering and actively posing like 80s rock stars. Fans will also be incentivized to check-in weekly via GetGlue for their chance to win an exclusive PSYCH Arcade.

The VOD pre-linear premiere will be accompanied by feature bonus interviews with series stars James Roday (Shawn Spencer) and Dulé Hill (Burton ‘Gus’ Guster), as well as show creator/executive producer Steve Franks and executive producers Chris Henze and Kelly Kulchak. The Preview Event will be available on most carriers, including, Comcast, Time Warner, Charter, Cox, Cablevision, DirecTV, Dish, ATT U-verse, and Verizon Fios.

The winter premiere, “Indiana Shawn and the Temple of Kinda Crappy, Rusty Old Sword,” features guest star Cary Elwes who reprises his role as Despereaux. Madchen Amick also guests along with John Rhys-Davies, as a nod to the Indiana Jones movie franchise, where he played Sallah in “Raiders of the Lost Ark.” The episode is written and directed by Franks.

With 2.2 million Facebook fans, PSYCH also stars Corbin Bernsen, Timothy Omundson, Maggie Lawson and Kirsten Nelson.

Juliet (Maggie Lawson) faces a rival for Shawn’s (James Roday) affections in the upcoming “Shawn and the Real Girl” (which we saw being filmed in Vancouver). You can also see Lawson get her femme fatale on in an upcoming episode of Justified, in which Psych’s sweetheart plays a shockingly saucy vixen. Reow!

Her episode will be airing on Tuesday, February 14th at 10pm on FX.

Justified screeners continue to serve up casting scoops even to us spoilerholics. In Episode 5 of the FX drama (airing Feb. 14), Psych fans can count on seeing Maggie Lawson play a nurse who might have vital information to share with Raylan. But is she a naughty nurse when it comes to the ruggedly handsome U.S. Marshall? We report, you decide. Episode 6, meanwhile, finds Lost‘s William Mapother continuing his streak as the perpetual creepster, playing an Oxy-addicted, woman-beating bar owner.

The cable network’s longest-running series on air, starring James Roday and Dule Hill, will return for 16 more episodes.

Tuesday’s announcement was done in a rather unique way. Beginning at 8 a.m., USA Network utilized Psych’s Twitter and Facebook pages to introduce a pineapple puzzle, teasing fans that there would be a message when it was completed.

“We are always trying to find ways to reward our Psych brand ambassadors for their loyalty and passion and social media plays a critical role in how we connect with the people who matter most — the fans,” said USA Network co-presidents Chris McCumber and Jeff Wachtel in a statement. “It was exciting to deliver this historical news to them first and before traditional media.”

The final piece to the puzzle unlocked a video featuring Roday and Hill announcing the pickup, during which Roday casually says, “Oh, and also, Psych is officially coming back for a seventh season, which is very cool, but I’m kinda working on this belt situation right now.” Roday mentioned prior to the announcement that his character Shawn Spencer was eyeing a brown belt.

Psych wrapped up the first half of season 6 last December and will return for the final seven episodes of the year on Feb. 29. Its sixth season premiere launched to 3 million viewers in October.

Psych centers on fake psychic Shawn and his childhood friend Gus as they help the Santa Barbara Police Dept. solve odd crimes. Created by Steve Franks, the series co-stars Corbin Bernsen, Timothy Omundson, Maggie Lawson and Kirsten Nelson.
